the "VR" story

Three chance meetings...changing the lives of all involved...

This story just kinda popped into my head at work during the summer of 2001, and wouldn't go away until I started writing it. It's different from many of my other stories in that it has no fantasy and is purely sci-fi.

The story itself is about four people, a married couple and two young men. The world they live in is a fake one, where everyone lives in virtual reality and only the rich can return to the real world. These four people are, or will be, involved in a group called the Returners, whose goal is to bring reality back to the world.
