Mahou Shounen Rei

Ah, the magical girl story...one of the wonderful recurring themes of shoujo anime. And here is my first venture into the genre...though it's certainly not your average mahou shoujo story, as you might be able to tell from the title. After all, what kind of magical girl story has a male main character?

Lesse...Rei is...your average Irish (we think, no one's quite sure) boy who was adopted by a Japanese couple when he was two...his real name is Dana. Oh yeah, he's gay too. His family recently moved to the US, and well, he's trying to fit in there. Then, he falls in love (or maybe in lust...) with this really cute guy, and to avoid getting hated or anything like that he keeps his feelings secret.

Then he sees an ad asking for someone who wants to be a magical girl...and things fall apart from there on.
