The World Web, Book I: Nonay

This is the "novel" that I wrote for NaNoWriMo 2002. The point was to start November 1 and write a 50,000 word novel by 11:59 pm November 30. I started on about the 15th and finished in time, so I'm really happy about that!!

The story is about a girl who calls herself Nonay. That's not her real name; she can't remember her real name. She lives at an orphanage run by monks, and she just wants to be able to live her life in peace. Unfortunately, a sorcerer finds her one day and starts hunting her down for some magical ability that she supposedly has. After that she gets taken on a trip that eventually teaches her things about herself and her universe that she never knew before.

The title is...crappy. I couldn't think of a better one, but if I ever do, it changes in a flash. It's not very good either, since I wrote the second half in about 5 days. Beware semi-pointless conversations, too much dialogue, and rapid skipping of time. Also, beware the dream sequences. They're absolute crap.

This is the first half of the story. It is a full story in itself, but I left some loose ends, on purpose. I knew I was eventually going to write the rest of the story, and I wanted to get into those loose ends then. Now, I've decided that I'm going to write Book 2: Micah, before I start revising and editing Nonay. Because of that, there are some things that may change drastically when I finally get around to the revision... So, I guess I'm trying to say that this isn't the final version of the story, so things might not all be logical and right.
