The Colonial War

The year is 89 SE (standard era)... which is equivalent to 2222 AD. Mankind has long since filled the Earth... to the point where they have built colonies on the Moon and in space. Now, the people of the colonies are trying to declare indepence from the Earth. Except it seems there is a third side in this odd war... one that is opposed to both the Earth Army forces and the Colonial rebel forces?? And caught up in the middle of all of this are Niki and Jay... a pair of genie twins.

Niki is a sixteen year old (by her reckoning, others might say she's two hundred and forty-one ^_^) genie who has been shut inside of her bottle since the very end of the twentieth century, as punishment for a simple mistake. She has just recently been let out, only to find that she has lost well over two hundred years! The world around her is confusing enough, only now she finds herself pressed into this mysterious third side in the colonial conflict.

Jay, on the other hand, is a genie in name only. He has lost his magic, thanks to bit of disobedience and stubbornness. Now he lives a mostly mundane life... only he does not age and he cannot kill... not even himself. He manages to make do quite well, despite his apparent age of sixteen, and he finds himself drawn into the conflict on the Moon not only in his personal life, as the current lover of one of the two seconds-in-command of the Moon-based part of the Earth Army, but also in his work life, as an engineer working on a new form of mechanical armor that all sides of the war would love to get their hands on.

For those who have read Nelene Academy part I (or the beginning of part II for that matter)... this Jay is the same Jay who is Ed's boyfriend and Arin's teacher. That story takes place well before this one... and Arin will eventually make an appearance, eventually.
