"Squee!"

I felt the air around me move just moments before the arms came wrapping around me and the rest of the small body followed just behind, knocking me to the ground. Had I been a little more alert I might have been able to avoid it, but it was morning, and mornings and alertness did not mix in my world. Instead, I was half asleep, as I always was anytime before noon, and that resulted in my being knocked flat on my back by an overly energetic and far too awake shape that my mind later realized was Ben.

Less than a heartbeat after that, the first shape was joined by a second one, and again my sleepy mind was unable to resolve the issue at the time, so it filed it for later. That would be Ian, simply by following the rules of logic, something not available to me in the mornings, but at the time I just settled for realizing that I now had a second small shape on top of me, and that both of them were radiating excitement and glee, and all sorts of emotions that made my head hurt in the morning, particularly any time before I got my daily dose of the evil that is coffee.

"Unka Jay!!!" two young voices chorused in unison. Leave it to my sister to continue the family "tradition" of fraternal twin children who are quite distinct in appearance, but at the same time oddly identical as well. At least hers managed to be the same gender without the use of magic...but still...

It was about then that my brain managed to slog through the remaining funk left laying around in my head after sleep and finally get around to processing the sensory information I had left for it to analyze back when the twins glomped me. It came back with the same results that I previously announced. The first living missile that had collided with me was Ben, and the second one was Ian. The "Unka Jay" only reinforced the conclusion.

That was my cue to try and sit up. In order to do that, though, I had to lift both boys off of me, and that required magic, as one boy was sitting conveniently on top of my left arm, and the other was similarly occupying the other arm. A small flow of thought connected to a slight blaze of green power fixed that, and before either boy could realize what was happening, they were on the floor next to me, and I was levering myself to my feet, smiling at them warmly.

"Ohayou!" Ian chimed at me, which was matched at the same time by a "Morning!" from his brother.

"Good morning," I replied, which earned me hugs from both sides. "What's up?"

The boys just grinned at me, and wouldn't say anything. We stood like that for almost half a minute (which was probably a record for those two at that age)...until finally they both broke out into identical smiles at the same time. Then, before I knew what was happening, my hands were being grabbed on both sides by smaller ones, and I was being pulled forward into the kitchen. I sighed, and let them drag me forward, since I knew that even if I stopped and refused to move until they told me what they wanted, it wouldn't work. I would just have to let them show me...

And to be honest, that was half of the fun.
