Blood Ties
Maire Connoly is a writer. The fact that she's never gotten anything published under her own name means nothing to her. She was the person behind Jeremiah Peterson's bestselling first novel It's All In the Ears. He won it from her in a bet that she lost. She was also behind his three subsequent novels, all just as popular as the first, though Maire was trying her hardest to make them fail. She just can't figure out why her worst writing (and she's trying very hard to make sure it's bad) is selling so well, and she's hoping that her latest novel might kill his career once and for all.
Then, just after she finishes the latest novel, she finds out that her grandfather, a man she has never met before, has died...and left her his fortune, his title, and a few other things that she never even dreamed of.
