Nadie

Major spoilers here...and I mean major...

Nadie is a little girl who works for the Hunters, a group of overzealous humans who have no goal in life more important than the eradication of every last member of the race known as nothing. The nothing are shapeshifters who can take on any form they can think of. They often have other abilities as well, and their true forms are completley unknown, except maybe to them. Unless one has some kind of supernatural sense, it is impossible to tell a nothing in human form apart from a true human.

Nadie is the Hunters' special weapon. She is, in reality, a nothing child who was taken by the Hunters and shaped into their killer. She can erase a being's existence just by uttering the words "you must die." She has been under the control of the Hunters for six years, and during that time she was warped from her original form and brainwashed to believe that she was nothing but a tool...no one (thus the name).

Before the Hunters got her, Nadie was actually a boy by the name of Nicolas. He and his older brother lived happily together, completely oblivious of the fact that they were both nothing in human form. Their mother died giving birth to Nico and never told the older boy what they were. They just lived as normal people, despite their special gifts.

Nico has an affinity with life of all kinds. He was never lonely as a child, because he could talk with the animals without being one of them. He could also heal. When he was taken by the Hunters and warped into Nadie, his gift reversed itself (the same way his gender did...it was what they had to do to get him under their control) and turned into an affinity with death.

As the Hunters' assassin, Nadie's only real rival is a young nothing man who calls himself Alguien ("someone" in Spanish). This rather stupid sounding name is just a code name given to him by the anti-Hunter faction that he works with. He has a highly developed ability to shield and protect life (as well as a bit of healing), and he is about the only person out there who can stop Nadie's power once she utters her trigger phrase.

He is, of course, Nico's older brother (whose name I cannot seem to decide on), and the reason he can block Nadie's power is because he and his brother had similar gifts, tied together in a way that could only happen because of shared blood. He is aware of the fact that Nadie is his little brother...though heavily altered, and part of his reason for working to save the nothing under attack from her is simply so he can try to bring Nico back. He tends to call Nadie "chibi," which is something he always used to call Nico as well.

Nico was a very bright, happy boy. He didn't have much experience with sadness or anything bad like that, besides having no human friends because he was considered weird. Nadie, on the other hand, doesn't have much of a personality. She is completely focused on her missions and her duty to the Hunters. She rarely shows any sort of expression, mostly because she rarely feels anything, and she speaks in a flat, soft voice with absolutely no inflection whatsoever.
